Hello friends! // Nyob zoo peb coj phooj ywg!
We are the Hmong American Student Association of Michigan State University. HASA was founded in 1997 by aspiring students who sought the need to create a collaborative Hmong community in our institution, educate the community about the Hmong culture, and promote Hmong cultural awareness to the MSU campus and the greater Lansing area.
We are a student driven organization. Our primary focus is to serve as a forum for Hmong students so that we may address any issues or concerns they may have while attending MSU. Through our work, we hope to form friendships and serve as a support system for one another. As with any large university, the transition to college life and/or being away from family may be a difficult one.
Lastly, being involved in HASA gives our members the opportunity to develop leadership skills, a greater sense of identity, network with other Hmong students throughout the country, and serve our community.
